Body shape Dreadnought Most people notice a Dreadnought very quickly by its looks. It is the “classic” among steel-string acoustic guitars. This guitar is typically favored by singer/songwriters. Legendary musicians such as Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, or John Lennon were all Dreadnought players. Thanks to its slightly wider waist and larger top surface, this body shape offers more depth along with rich basses and lower mids. Guitar type 6-string
