Storage of data for invoicing purposes (performance of a contract)
For the fulfilment of orders and subsequent invoicing, we store customer data in customary business documents such as order confirmations, delivery notes and invoices, in compliance with statutory retention periods.
Our primary customers are commercial traders (musical instrument dealers), but in the case of accessories and merchandise products, we also serve individual consumers. A consumer in this context is a person who purchases goods for personal use on a one-off basis or in small quantities.
For business customers, we maintain customer master records associated with specific customer numbers and store their data permanently or at least for the periods required by statutory retention obligations.
End customers are not included in our customer master records. This means that we do not permanently store customer data in our merchandise management system, but only retain them in accounting documents required for invoicing (invoices, delivery notes, etc.).
The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (processing for the performance of a contract).
Data processing for repair and service orders
To process and carry out repair and service orders, we store and process the personal data of our customers required for this purpose. These include, in particular, names, contact details, addresses and information about the instruments concerned and the work performed.
Processing is carried out for the performance of the relevant order on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Where necessary for shipping or returning an instrument, we transmit the necessary address and shipping details to the shipping and transport companies commissioned by us. Any further disclosure takes place only where required for processing the order or by law.
We also store information about repairs carried out so that we can refer to an instrument's repair history in the event of subsequent service enquiries. This serves to provide our customers with efficient and professional service. Where this storage extends beyond the immediate processing of the order, it is based on our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Personal data are stored only for as long as necessary for the purposes stated or as required by statutory retention obligations. They are subsequently erased unless further legitimate grounds for storage exist.
You may request access to your stored personal data at any time and request their rectification or erasure within the scope of the applicable legal provisions. You may also object to processing based on our legitimate interest on grounds relating to your particular situation.
